Virgin and Child Wall Sculpture in Oak Wood, Art Deco Style, 1980s
The protection and benevolence of the Virgin and Child, crafted in oak wood.
This Italian handcrafted wall sculpture from the 1980s depicts the Virgin and Child in an Art Deco style.
Made from a single piece of oak, the artisan, likely a devout Christian, clearly had a deep respect for the faith. They honored this Marian figure and the Infant Jesus with exquisite detail, both gentle and moving.
The figure of Mary is, above all, that of the mother, protective and caring for her Child. This gentle, more "popular" image is presented within a geometric Art Deco-inspired frame.
The back of this sculpture does not have a hole for wall mounting; you will need to either screw in a screw or drill a hole to hang it. Alternatively, it can stand upright, leaning against a wall on a chest of drawers.
Lovers of Italian religious folk art and Art Deco-style depictions of the Virgin and Child, don't wait any longer! Adopt this wall sculpture now.
