Made entirely in the Maison Lecan workshop, this charred wood table is the result of an ancient Japanese technique: Shou Sugi Ban. The pine is charred with a flame, brushed to reveal the wood grain, and then varnished with two coats of satin finish. The result is a deep, vibrant black that gains character over the years.
It comfortably seats up to 14 guests and is equally at home in a private residence, a hotel, a guesthouse, or a restaurant. It's a table to cherish for a lifetime. Its construction relies on traditional woodworking techniques: the tabletop is screwed along the entire length of the crossbeams, and the tapered legs lend it a refined elegance.
It will develop a patina over time. Its charm will grow stronger meal after meal, year after year.
The legs are easily removable to fit through narrow doorways when moving house. Please note that the charred wood may have small cracks created by the flames, but these are stabilized once the table is charred and will not change over time. The table is delivered packaged in a cardboard box measuring 300 x 90 x 15 cm.
