18th century, proof printed in bistre color engraved by Francesco Bartolozzi (1727-1815) after a painting by Angelica Kauffman (1740-1807) kept in the collection of George Bowles, sketcher.
London published as the Act directs May. 1. 1784. Sold in Paris at Ruotte son engraver and Merchant of prints rue and porte Saint Jacques, with privilege of the King. 1784.
Bartolozzi, of Italian origin, spent a large part of his life in England where he had an abundant and highly appreciated production.
