This elegant pair of four-light candelabra boasts exquisite chasing and rich ornamentation inspired by the grand decorative repertoire of the 18th century: acanthus leaves, pearls, interlaced rings, water leaves, laurel and berries, and straight and twisted fluting combine to create a particularly refined ensemble.

The fluted central stem rises in a remarkable upward movement, adorned with long, leafy sheaves reminiscent of stylized cornucopias, from which the light arms emerge in the form of scrolling foliage.

The quality of the bronze is evident in the relief work and the finesse of the reworking after casting: crisp outlines, vibrant foliage, matte backgrounds, and subtly nuanced antique gilding.

These candelabra belong to the fine French productions of the late 19th and early 20th centuries that offer a refined reinterpretation of the grand Louis XVI designs for the elegant interiors of the Third Republic.

A hole at the base for electrification, likely original or very old.

Height: 47.5 cm Base diameter: 14.5 cm
