Short, hooded forend.
Silver barleycorn rear sight.
Breech tang marked "Mle 1816" and engraved with the number "5".
Flintlock, signed "Mre Rle de Maubeuge"; all pieces with the same number.
Wooden frame signed and chiseled "R.L.7" and "5."
Finely checkered wooden stock.
Underguard crest with checkering.
Brass trigger guard stamped with an "M" and numbered "5".
