Beautiful "modéle 1837" regulation marine saber. Made in France by HOSTIN, dated 1989.
Two-fluted special steel blade, length 69 cm, total length including scabbard 89 cm, metal scabbard sheathed in black leather. Handle in black material (horn or rhodoid) with eleven grooves. The bronze and brass guard and fittings are gilded. The openwork shell of the guard is decorated with water-leaf scrolls surrounding an anchor. The cap features the same leaves and an escutcheon. The saber blade is made of special steel with two flutes.
