Brass visor band, Hessen province plate, with the letters FC in an escutcheon, interlaced with two axes and the motto "Gott zur ehr dem nachsten zur wehr" (God to honor, neighbor to defend). Right-hand cockade of the Second Reich (post-1897) and of the province of Hessen on the left. Bomb topped by brass crest. Chinstrap with silver-plated brass lion-head plate. Black leather inner cap with 10 wolf's teeth. Manufacturer's plate Muller & Co ville d'Offenbach am main. In service at the dawn of World War 14/18. Size 55/56. ABE, with traces of use.
