Born into a family of Polish nobility, he discovered art during his childhood on numerous trips to Europe.
He studied at the Beaux-Arts in Munich and in Paris, and exhibited his first paintings, close to the Fauve movement, at one of Paris's leading galleries, Galerie Bernheim.
He settled and lived in the Montmartre of the avant-garde, where he frequented Derain, Picasso, Soutine...
His canvases are highly recognizable for their knife technique and colorful palette.
He exhibited at the Salon d'Automne in 1912, 1913 and 1919.
He painted portraits of contemporaries such as Léonard Foujita and Antoine Bourdelle....
Bankers David David-Weill, Regent of the Banque de France, granted Wladimir de Terlikowski financial support throughout his life.
