Ivan da Silva Bruhns reinvented the art of carpet design in the 1920s and adapted it to the art deco style. His work is influenced by ethnic Berber geometric carpets (North Africa, Morocco in particular). From 1925, he ran a gallery rue de l'Odéon in Paris and then from 1930 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. He makes many carpets for embassies, national monuments, the largest liners such as Normandy, Ile de France etc. From the famous Exposition of 1925 was born a widely recognized grand master of carpet art. From 1922 to 1936, he worked a lot for Jules Leleu and his luxury decoration works for prestigious clients. Its oils are rare and highly sought after.
