This is a pastel on canvas, an early 19th-century portrait of a woman seated in an armchair. The woman is wearing period costume. You'll notice a lovely expression on her face.
The original frame is gilded with gold leaf.
The work is unsigned, but certainly the hand of an artist.
Condition: a fold on the left canvas, some wear and rubbing. Traces inside, we have not opened the tile.
We also note some wear, rubbing, scratches and missing parts on the frame.
The work is sold, uncleaned and unrestored.
