A very beautiful oval candy box by Camille Tharaud.
The mark beneath the object, the intertwined initials CT in green accompanied by the Tharaud signature in blue, indicates the period of manufacture between 1930 and 1945.
The domed lid is decorated with a scene on a blue background of three cherubs who appear to be floating on a cloud. The technique used is Camille Tharaud's favorite, "paste on paste," which gives a beautiful transparency to the raised subject. The whole is simply encircled by an irregular line of gold applied freehand.
The container, a beautiful milky white, rests on four feet in the same blue as the lid. The feet installed on the periphery project upwards around the edge, thus delimiting four white areas. The interior is the same white, and there are four hollow fire points where the feet were placed. As I told you about our crystal and silver candy dish...
