Louis Albert CARVIN (1875–1951)
Louis Albert Carvin was admitted to the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where he studied under Emmanuel Frémiet and Georges Gardet. A member of the Société des Artistes Français, he exhibited at the society’s Salons from the late 19th century until 1933. He received an honorable mention in 1894
Specializing in animal sculpture, he used deer, does, lions, lionesses, panthers, birds, wolfdogs, and occasionally horses, such as the group sculpture *L’Accolade*, depicting a pair of thoroughbreds, produced by the J.B. Paris foundry.
