Proof in finely chased bronze with a beautiful chocolate-brown patina.
Signed: Ferdinand Barbedienne fondeur.

Ferdinand Barbedienne (1810-1892), best known for his bronze foundry, joined forces in 1838 with mechanic Achille Collas (1795-1859), inventor of the bronze and objets d'art reproduction process.
