    "Sarpedon" Lycian hero who took part in the Trojan War against the Achaeans, bow in hand, quiver and arrows at his feet.
    Proof in bronze with brown patina by the Siot Decauville foundry.
    Signed on the terrace and titled on the front,
    Casting stamp Siot Decauville and numbered 5743.

    Henri Peinte (Cambrai 1845 - Paris 1912 ) A pupil of Francisque Duret, Eugène Guillaume and Jules Cavelier at the Beaux-Arts in Paris, he made his debut at the Salon in 1877 with Sarpédon and won the Grand Prix at the Exposition Universelle in 1889.
    Represented at the Musée de Cambrai, Musée du Luxembourg, Musée d'Orsay.
