This highly detailed sculpture is signed Henri Plé and bears the Siot Decauville Fondeur Paris stamp.
Henri Honoré Plé (1853 - 1922) was a student of Mathurin Moreau.
His work as a sculptor was mainly inspired by powerful male figures, heroes of history or mythology.
As early as 1877, he exhibited at the Salon, winning an honorable mention in 1879 and a bronze medal at the Exposition Universelle in Paris in 1900.
