This piece exerts a truly hypnotic power thanks to the richness of its intricately interwoven patterns. The visual effect is almost three-dimensional: the relief arises from the subtle contrast between the colored areas and the ecru background. The overall vibrations are reinforced by the deep brown lines (never black) and touches of indigo blue, which bring an almost musical intensity to the composition.
Woven in wool on a cotton warp, this kilim is distinguished by a fine, dense, and remarkably regular weave. The piece remains supple, a testament to excellent craftsmanship.
