Superb Kazakh kilim adorned with traditional mirrored ram's horn motifs.
The composition, both minimalist and powerful, is built around wide horizontal bands, offering a perfect balance between graphic strength and visual softness.
The plant hues are sumptuous: deep, saturated indigo blues, brilliant reds and, a rare subtlety, an unexpected Champagne shade that gracefully illuminates the whole.
The result: a strikingly painterly piece, a veritable ocean of colors to lay on the floor, in a compact, decorative format.
Woven wool on wool with great finesse and precision, this kilim bears witness to Kazakh craftsmanship of the late 19th century.
Very good overall condition, with a few carefully restored pieces.
Please note: one or two small, discreet stains on the back.
