Small black marble clock, resting on a projection and molded base, presenting in the upper part a gilded bronze bust of Diane de Poitiers, by the Renaissance sculptor Jean Goujon (1510 - 1567). The original work comes from the fountain at Château d'Anet, which is now on display in the Louvre. The favorite of King Henry II is depicted in profile, her hair raised and carefully combed in braids, held in place by a crown, in the fashion of ancient inspiration. The artist has brilliantly transcribed the finesse of his features, and the nobility that emerges from them.
Accompanied by its winding key, this clock has a black dial nicely embellished with an entourage and golden Roman numerals.
Sober and refined, this Pendulum will bring a touch of elegance to your decoration, through the refinement of its sculpture and the contrasting brilliance of its colors.
