A pair of very tall (nearly 40 cms) bamboo brush pots carved with birds and plants, dating from the first half of the 20th century. These pots are Japanese. Their large size makes them quite imposing and it is easy to assume they were made for large brushes. However, the interiors are not as deep as the exterier would suggest.
n the whole the pots are well preserved although they do have a slight wobble. One of them has some slight cracks but nothing serious and also has a small hole in the base. The other is slightly heavier and in good condition. As always, please look at the photos and you can contact me if you need more information.
The outer dimensions are 39.8 cms (height) x 10.5 cms (diameter); inside the part that serves as the brush pot is about 10 cm on one and 19 cm on the other and they weigh respectively 779g and 760 g. Both are intact at the inner bases.
