Rare Gien earthenware Dinette set, circa 1890, with blue-green printed "landscape" decoration of thatched cottages, windmills, plant and floral borders, birds in flight.
This small service includes:
- 6 dinner plates
- 6 soup plates
- 4 dessert plates
- gravy boat
- a soup tureen
- a vegetable dish
- a small oval dish
- one oval platter
- two round serving dishes
- 2 heel displays
The set is in remarkable condition, with no accidents. Note, however, a hair on the rim of the soup tureen, a small crack on the rim of one of the display stands, and small cracks (from firing?) on the handles of the sauceboat, which are otherwise intact.
