Atypical black iron ritual anthropomorphic or zoomorphic DOGON from Mali representing an animal or a "Nommo", ancestral genie in Dogon mythology! The figure's hands are on a plate, symbolically pointing skywards in prayer to the divine world. Its spade-shaped base would have allowed it to be planted on a ritual altar.
