Burma, second half of the 19th century, rare and superb pair of carved wooden stools or stools depicting harnessed elephants.
Such pieces, very similar but without the palanquin serving as a seat or support, were present at the great international art dealer Claude de Marteau (1935-2016).
They are represented lying down, trunks in the air and decorated with harnessing. The quality of the sculpture restores the beauty of these marvelous animals.
Unit dimensions: Length 50 cm. Height 30.5 cm. The scale indicator is a bottle with a capacity of 150 cl.
Condition: Normal and visible wear due to normal use over a long period. Good condition.
