Rare gilded carved wood reliquary shrine in the form of a Gothic chapel, with architectural decoration of three-lobed arcatures, hooked gables terminating in fleur-de-lys pinnacles, central part surmounted by a cross, original bubbled glass, featuring 12 reliquaries (including a monstrance reliquary holder) and two pieces in medallions, 19th century.
This shrine is in good condition and of exceptional quality. The interior (support for the reliquaries) was made at a later date. All reliquaries are sealed.
On display (see our website for photo files for details) :
- two brass medallion reliquaries adorned with rhinestones (one of which may be St. Petri) / - two oval medallion reliquaries (one of which is St. Francis of Assisi) - two oval medallion reliquaries (one of which is St. Ignatius of Loyola) - two small medallion reliquaries (St. Petri and St. Theresa) - two small medallion reliquaries (St. Vincent de Paul and Marins) - one small medallion reliquary ( St. Vincent de Paul);
- a monstrance-shaped reliquary in gilded brass, decorated with colored rhinestones and dedicated to St Vincent de Paul;
- two antique coins: a token with the Name of Jesus (IHS) / - most certainly a "Blanc à la Couronne" with the Ecu de France and cantoned cross (15th century). These coins are presented in medallions. They are very worn and difficult to identify categorically.
Please note: some slight accidents and missing gilding on the wood of the shrine, wear on some reliquaries (labels have been removed), a rhinestone is missing from a medallion, both pieces are very worn, age-related, please take a good look at the photos (several downloadable photo files are available on our website).
* Vincent de Paul (1581 or 1576- 1660)
