A beautiful relic of Saint Lucia, Virgin and Martyr, sits at the center of our gilded and polychromed wooden monstrance. Original drawn glass. Her name evokes light, but she lived in shadow. Saint Lucy of Syracuse Virgin and martyr in Sicily (+ c. 305) was very popular and her cult dates back to the first centuries.
An 18th-century Italian work in fine condition.
Dimensions: 42 cm high x 20 cm wide x 11 cm deep at terrace level.
