Stamped brass chenille helmet, gadrooned crest stamped with the letters MF, leather-covered flat tortoiseshell false chinstrap, front of crest with flamed grenade, front plate with uncrowned imperial eagle (under the presidency of Napoleon III. maque two flag points), resting on an orb bearing the word "DEVOUEMENT" with an encircling band with text "SAPEURS POMPIERS DE CONNATRE", fixed visor with stamped decoration of two crossed and knotted sapper's axes framed by laurel leaves. Black horsehair caterpillar, vintage red plumeet in its plumeet holder, without fastening screws. Interior missing.
