Facial mask presenting a face entirely covered with kaolin and decorated with blue and red floral motifs. The masks of the Ituri region, and more precisely of the Ndaaka people, are relatively rare and differ in style from those of the Komo people.
Their masks are worn by elders during initiation rites. They are often decorated with stars, animal prints, or like this one with flowers.
Wood with a patina of use, natural pigments.
