A relic ex ossibus, encased in a bag and mounted on red velvet, is honored in this reliquary frame.
Carved from wood, lacquered black and gold, and decorated with scrolls, it houses a rich floral arrangement of gold wire, pearls, and glass beads, centered around a painted miniature.
On the back are five wax seals from the Ursuline convent of Flavigny, in Moselle, where they settled in 1632 and which remained until the French Revolution.
A work dating from around 1700. Maurice, a Roman soldier, converted to Christianity, was martyred in Agaunum in 287. He is notably the patron saint of the diocese of Angers.
