FIREMAN'S HELMET TYPE 1852, SECOND EMPIRE.

Entirely made of brass, bomb topped by a crest embossed with a decreasing series of gadroons, front plate embossed with an eagle on a background of flags surmounting a ribbon marked SAPEUR-POMPIER DE SAINT DIE.
Mobile visor embossed with two crossed axes.
Brass chinstraps stamped with flat scales, round rosette.
Inner cap missing.
Posterior scarlet rooster feather plume.
Good overall condition. I would like to point out that the crest has been damaged, the interior is missing and there are minor dents from use, which can be seen in the photos.
