Bronze with brown patina representing Giovanni Ferretti (1792 - 1878) elected on June 16, 1846 under the name of Pius IX. Named Blessed, this Pope made history by proclaiming the dogma of the Immaculate Conception.
Wearing his papal cap, Pius IX presents a face full of benevolence, sketching a slight smile.
A hooded mozette hemmed with Hermine covers her shoulders. Above, a pallium is carved with beautiful ornamentation. This large fabric is decorated with volutes surrounding doves and the Vatican coat of arms represented by the crossed keys of Saint Peter.
On the Bronze pedestal, a plaque engraved in relief presents the name of the Pope in its center. Around, we find again the keys of Saint Peter and a representation of the papal tiara.
Resting on a black marble plinth molded in the upper part, this work to the glory of the supreme head of the Catholic Church is imbued with charisma and piety.
