Bronze subject with brown patina, representing a woman, leaning forward, with a slender and naked body. Only a ribbon, wrapped around her left arm raised to the sky on one side, and held by her right hand on the other, hides her intimacy. This figure with hair pulled up into a bun is leaning on one foot, which is itself placed on the mouth of a baby blower. The second leg is bent and raised backwards, accentuating the impression of imbalance in the posture of this woman.
The ensemble rests on a base composed of a cylinder with the upper and lower ends molded into steps. The central part of this base is decorated with a host of Putti Musicians, accompanied by their instruments: trumpets, tambourine, mandolin ...
The Lorraine artist Claude Michel engraved his work with his pseudonym, Clodion (1738-1814), a signature associated with that of his inspiration, the Flemish sculptor Jean de Bologne (1529-1608).
