Auguste MOREAU (1834-1917)
Bronze statue with brown patina, rests on a marble.
This statue has a very nice movement and grace and fits into the mythological statuaries of the 19th century.
Auguste MOREAU, began at the Salon of 1861 and continued to take an active part until 1910 at the Salon des Artistes Français, an artistic group, of which he was a member.
During his career he produced mainly art bronzes. Several of his works are kept at the Fine Arts Museums of Troyes, Bordeaux and the Orsay Museum.
This statue will delight lovers of light and feminine subjects. The artist has paid particular attention to the movement of the dress, the slender pose of the arms, the delicate petals of the roses, the tender gaze and the smile of the nymph….
