Retour d'Egypte clock in grey veined griotte red marble and gilt bronze with mercury.
Portico-shaped, it features two lateral sheaths with Egyptian heads and feet resting on a marble terrace adorned with a frieze of palmettes.
The movement is embellished with an ormolu apron simulating a drape, and topped by a marble cup, itself framed by two green-veined black marble balls.
The knife-sprung movement chimes hours and half-hours as it passes. Overhauled by our watchmaker, it works perfectly.
French work circa 1800-1810.
