Round barrel, stamped "JD", stamped "5946", dated "S1853", control stamp and initial "MI". Protruding inertia block on right side. Handlebar on rectangular base. Bayonet lug on bottom of muzzle.
Breechblock engraved "M1853".
Rear lock signed "Manufacture Impériale de Saint Etienne" and hallmarked.
Short-barrel walnut frame, hallmarked, with pin on the right side.
Engraved "3 E" buttplate, trigger guard, nasturtium and mouthpiece in hallmarked brass. Other punched iron fittings. Nailhead ramrod.
Excellent condition.
