Charles X portico clock, marquetry and gilt bronze, circa 1830.
Pendulum from the Charles X period around 1830 called "portico" in inlaid veneer on a rosewood background in an antique architectural form represented by 4 columns of Roman Doric order in simulated fluted veneer and gilt bronze for the base and capital , these elements support an entablature inlaid with flowers and foliage surmounted by a blackened cornice, we find the same work of marquetry on the base of the pendulum.
The movement and the dial are suspended, the enamelled dial has Roman numerals, it is surrounded by a crown decorated in gilded bronze, the balance has identical ornamentation.
The movement was overhauled a few years ago, the clock works, it comes with a winding key, the gilding of the bronzes is the original and it is in good condition.
